The creation account from Genesis 1 and 2 reveals to us God’s intricate and orderly design of all creation. We are reminded from the opening words that this is his plan of salvation history. Genesis 2 transitions our thoughts to God’s relational design of mankind to interact with him. His creation is perfect, and now we get insight into the relational story of his intimate purposeful design and creation of mankind. This relationship has been tainted, we will get there in chapter 3, but we learn of the initial design and purpose so that we can understand our value to God.
