Jacob runs for his life — alone, guilty, afraid. And God meets him there — not with condemnation, but with covenant grace. The vision of the ladder reveals the true direction of salvation: from heaven to earth. Jesus later declares that He Himself is the true ladder — the connection between God and humanity. When sin isolates us, Jesus finds us, speaks His promises, and says: “I am with you.”
