Confessing to a Friend

April 3, 2022 • Pastor Kelly Huet

The guilt has built up, the fear has strangled, we’ve finally confessed to God, and have peace, but still feel as though we are waiting for the other shoe to drop. We live wondering if we confessed properly, if we’ve been, “sorry enough” we’ve confessed to God in prayer but we keep struggling, we keep going back. The hardest thing is confessing to a friend. We don’t want others to know the darkness within. We don’t want to verbally say them, as we don’t want to be looked down upon, but by holding our confession to ourselves, we cut off God’s amazing peace that comes from doing the hardest thing, confessing to a friend. In doing so we find not judgement, but grace, mercy, encouragement, and support.
