The weight is overwhelming. It feels like you are being crushed, and at each turn of the day what little breath you have left is sucked out of you. You go through the motions but the guilt, shame, fear, regret are suffocating you. The hardest thing is confessing you can’t breathe. Confession is like breathing. Claiming to be okay is like holding your breath. You will spiritually die. But confession is good for the soul. Literally. God is faithful and will forgive us as we confess.
